Residion Solo on Linux¶
Solo is the free desktop app for an x86_64 Linux machine you already own. It is not the on-premise appliance. Documents, questions, and inference stay on that machine. Cloud Console stores the account that downloads the AppImage and activates the licence.
Who this is for¶
Anyone installing Residion on a personal or office Linux workstation, without an appliance in the building.
If you are operating a server appliance inside your network, use Getting started and the Operator Console instead.
First run¶
- Create a free account at console.residion.io/signup, or sign in if you already have one.
- On Download Residion Solo, choose Download for Linux. Cloud Console issues a short-lived link; if it expires, get a new one from the same page.
- The download is an AppImage. Make it executable and run it:
- On first launch, Solo downloads the pinned AI models into your data directory (
~/.local/share/residion/models/by default). That needs network access once. - After install, the app asks for the same email once. That step binds the licence to the Cloud Console account. After that, Solo works offline.
Windows is also available. See Solo on Windows. macOS is not offered yet.
What Solo does not include¶
Deployments, catalogue, licence seats, team, and settings in Cloud Console unlock with a Starter, Business, or Enterprise licence. Those are appliance products, not the Linux download.
The Operator Console on port 18084 is the appliance console. Solo does not use it.
