What still needs Residion¶
Some tasks look like they should be in the Operator Console but are not customer self-serve today. This page exists so you do not burn an afternoon hunting for a screen that does not exist.
Rule of thumb: if it is not listed under What you can do today, assume you need Residion unless this page says otherwise.
Connector credentials (Bucket C) — not self-serve¶
First-time connector setup for SharePoint, M365, Salesforce, SQL Account, AutoCount, and PostgreSQL — including OAuth application registration and credential entry — requires Residion engineering.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Create-or-credential endpoint | Does not exist anywhere in the admin API |
POST /v1/admin/connectors |
Triggers an ingestion job only (handle_admin_connector_job) — returns {accepted, job_id} |
| Console | Data & Knowledge can show status and trigger ingestion after Residion has configured the connector |
What you should do: open a request with Residion for initial connector setup. After that, operate the connector yourself via Data & Knowledge.
Vertical pack activation — arranged with Residion¶
Vertical packs (BFSI, Healthcare, and similar) stay sales-assisted for compliance and vetting reasons. This is independent of whether a technical switch could exist.
No technical entitlement control yet
The entitlement / enforcement mechanism is not yet built (roadmap item; not available in product). Describe activation as arranged with Residion. Do not describe it as a console or licence-file technical control.
SSO / IdP federation — not console-saved (Bucket B)¶
You may federate identity in Keycloak, but:
- The Operator Console wizard tests connectivity only — it does not persist federation.
- Customer-facing Keycloak runbooks are withheld until Keycloak production hardening and a scoped customer-admin role land.
Until those prerequisites ship, treat SSO federation as coordinated with Residion. See the stub: Identity & SSO.
Also not in the product today¶
Do not expect Residion (or these docs) to provide as built product features:
- Multi-node clustering, HA, failover (profile P4 is designed only)
- Backup / DR product features
- Infrastructure monitoring product features
- Appliance software upgrade path
- Published throughput, latency, or install-duration figures
How to engage Residion¶
Contact your Residion project channel (or the address named in your agreement) and state which of the above you need: connector onboarding, pack activation, or identity federation assistance.
